The Rulebook

The Basics

  • CWF is an original characters (OCs) only federation.
  • While you may be heavily inspired by a real wrestler, you should have your own name, catch phrases, finisher names, etc.
  • You may have as many characters in the CWF as you can handle. But if you have many characters, expect that they can possibly be booked in different matches on the same card. You need to roleplay for each possible entity.
    • An Entity in this case is defined as a singles wrestler (1 character), A tag team (two characters), or a stable (3 characters or more).
  • We have the following Shows and basic schedules:
    • Seasons: Seasons are in flux depending on the size of the area. It is usually a 5 or 6 regular show schedule followed by a blow off pay per view or super show. We are currently in Season 2, and in the second half.
    • Warzone – Our normal show. This is on a 3 week schedule with 2 weeks for handlers to roleplay, and then 1 week to produce and write the show.
    • Pay Per Views – These are always themed around a Warfare gimmick. Such as our first pay per view in South America was titled “Guerilla Warfare” and our second, held on a cruise ship was “Naval Warfare”. These are held after 5 or 6 Warzones, but may be a mid-season super show or end of season pay per view.
  • Titles and Divisions: The CWF currently recognizes Four (4) Titles for the federation. Each title has different rules for competing for them.
    • Conquest Championship (Single) – Our World Championship level belt. Held by the best of the best. This title must be defended every super show or pay per view
    • Elite Championship (Single) – This is our “Gimmick Title”. This title is defended at least every 2 regular shows and every PPV. Normal matches for the Elite Title will have a gimmick wheel spun to determine a random gimmick. The contestants will not know the gimmick until the results are posted. However, challenges for a specific gimmick can be approved ahead of time.
    • Tag Team Championships (Tag Teams) – A standard tag team titles. These are defended at least every 3 shows and Pay Per View. If two singles wrestlers have made a tag team, they may post roleplays separately or together, but a designated team still does not need to post more than 2 roleplays per card.
    • Valor Championship (Singles) – This is our Junior Title and usually the first aspiration for a new person to the federation. All Valor Title Matches are fought under the Valor Division Rules which include:
      • Title can change hands on a disqualification or count out
      • disqualifications can come by not answering a 5 count by the referee
      • rope breaks are enforced
      • Valor Title Special – If someone defends the valor championship, successfully, Five (5) times they will be required to relinquish the Valor Championship. But in return they will be granted a title shot at ANY other CWF Championship, of their choosing on the next Super Show or Pay Per View. This includes the tag team titles, if they can find or have a partner.
  • The CWF does NOT have the following separated divisions at this time:
    • Women’s Division – Women in the CWF compete with the men in a 1 on 1 basis, wihout penalty.
    • Weight Classes – All CWF matches and title divisions are considered openweight and are not weight restricted.
  • We encourage but do not require the following
    • Joining our Discord
      • We do think you miss out a lot if you are not on the discord including speaking with others in the federation and being able to plot and plan out angles and storylines with them. It is also the fastest way to get ahold of the booking staff.
    • The use of strategies of strats for your match
      • by using the form linked in the menu at the top of the site you can submit a ‘strategy’ or ‘strat’ for your match.
      • these help the match writer with how your character(s) will act in the match
      • you can also use it to request spots for the match
      • strats don’t have to be as good as an rp, they can be just short notes
      • this could be used as a tie breaker in the event of a roleplay scoring tie.
  • We are a drama free zone on the forums and in the discord.
    • If you have a problem with another handler, please let the booking staff in the discord or the admins on the forums know.
    • Bullying, discrimination or harassment of any type on our forums or discord will not be tolerated
    • these actions outside of our forums or discord will be handled on a case by case basis. If it can be proven to have been you who did it then we will consider you to have done it.
  • Age Requirements
    • The CWF allows people of all ages to join, with the following exceptions
      • We do allow R rated content in roleplays.
      • Our shows are hard PG-13 to R rated and include what would be considered adult language in the United States
      • If you are not of legal age to see this or you don’t have adult supervision, we do not suggest you sign up to take part in the CWF.
      • The CWF assumes no resposibility if a person of not legal age for their Country, State, County/Parrish, City/Township or any other legal entity to view content on this website or our forums. But we will try to facilitate warnings and disclaimers of such content.

        We are NOT babysitters.
  • Results are final, do not complain about them.
    • Results are 90% of the time based on roleplay scoring judged by at least two people, sometimes a third if a tie breaker is needed. However, they sometimes have to happen due to angles or storyline. The Booking Staff will try to facilitate communication in the event of an angle or storyline getting in the way, but things happen. If we mess up we will attempt to make it up to you.
    • NOTE: We also use the submission of strats/strategies and segments for a push. We can use these in consideration for a tie breaker as well.
  • This is mostly about everyone having fun, this means its NOT JUST YOU.
    • This goes for every handler as well including match writers and booking staff.
  • Which means the biggest rule for the CWF is – “Don’t be a dick” to anyone else and ruin their fun!

Roleplay Rules

  • As of right now, all roleplays are posted to the forums (see forum link in the menu above).
    • ONE roleplay per post. Do not reply to anyone’s roleplay.
    • The order of posting is sometimes used by the match writers to determine things in the match writing process.
    • Do not post a link to an external source (pdfs, google drive, another website or forums)
    • You have a 2 hour window after the roleplay was posted to do any edits. Once that time is done, the roleplay is finalized.
      • If you have a technical problem with a roleplay, asking the Booking Staff for permission to edit outside of that time frame.
    • Use of colors, images, etc in roleplays is allowed, but do not go overboard. Too much of a good thing can detract FROM the roleplays judged quality.
    • No use or AI Generators such as Chat GPT, Bard, etc.
      • We know this is not an easy thing to detect, but just know, if found out, you will be reprimanded and your character(s) will lose that match in spectacular fashion.
      • Repeated violations will lead to being released
  • Roleplay Limits PER Card (not per match)
    • Length: The CWF does not have a word minimum or maximum. But we do believe in quality over quantity. If you write a long and boring rp, you might lose to someone who writes a shorter, but more on point and engaging post.
    • Quantity: The CWF has a 2 roleplay limit per character or entity (see above) per card.
    • Multiple Characters: If you have multiple characters in different matches, then you should be posting roleplays for each separately.
    • No Sandbagging: The CWF has a limit of 1 roleplay posted per character on the final day of the roleplay period, unless approved by the Booking Staff. We understand real life happens, but don’t make a habit of it.
    • Limit Overrides: If two opponents want to do a special thing for a match, just pass it by the Booking Staff.
  • Do NOT use anyone else’s characters, from their main wrestlers to side characters without their permission.
    • Federation Staff used should be approved by the person who ultimately runs or owns that character
    • There is a channel on the Discord where people have posted blanket permissions for such things for some characters. Otherwise, ASK permission.
  • Role play ratings!
    • The CWF allows regular roleplay content up to what would be considered as a Hard R rating on a regular basis.
    • However, if you’re including subjects of intense adult content including but not limited to: sex or violence, we ask that you add a disclaimr to the START of your roleplay.
    • Since posting roleplays is currently on the external hosted forums, please add the notice at the top and make it very readable.
    • Once roleplaying is moved to the new website, there will be means added to include it in the roleplay and to hide content not suitable for younger members.
    • If you are roleplaying against someone who may not be of legal age to view R rated material yet, do NOT post a rolepaly against them that they would not be allowed to read!
    • Harder (X rated) content is allowed on a case by case basis, and must have a warning. But too much of a good thing is too much. Please do not overuse this.

Activity, Time Off, etc

  • If you can not be booked for any reason, please let the booking staff know.
  • We have a channel on the discord to request time off so that people can reference it quickly. That is the preferred method
    • If a card is already posted, and real life has reared its ugly head, let the booking staff know.
    • Remember: Card subject to change. We can rebook, cancel or postpone a match or see if we can come up with a storyline to not let your character lose their heat.
  • If you no-show two matches in a row, we will consider that you have decided to leave us and you will not be booked again without hearing from you.
    • Being moved to the inactive roster does not mean you can’t come back.
    • However, if you make a habit of coming and going without telling anyone, your request to rejoin might be denied.
