FAQ: Vanguard?

SPOILERS – IF you’ve not read it yet, go read the results of S2E8 HERE- https://conquestwrestling.x10.mx/2024/01/10/s2e8-problems-in-puebla/
Hint: You’re looking for Blaise’s Segment in the middle of the show.

So if you’ve read the announcement from CWF Vanguard on S2E8 of Warzone, then you’ve probably got questions, so here are the answers to most of them.

What: We’re breaking the show up a bit, because Warzone has grown to be so big. But Vanguard is also designed to give people a better chance to highlight their character.

Going to start off that this is going to start as a 3 show experiment.

Pre-S2E9
Pre-S2E10
And Vanguard will cover the pre-show for the Urban Warfare PPV as well.

What changes?

Vanguard will have 2 to 4 matches per show. Most will be the new debuts, or show opener style matches from Warzone pre-Vanguard, with maybe the HOT match here and there.

There will also be options for talent to submit skits, or interviews for the show. We are looking for at least as many backstage segments and interviews as we are matches.

Vanguard will be run by Jane Coughlin, another character being brought back from the past.

There will also be 3 main interviewers: Alyssa Lucchi, Joseph Greer, and James Collins. Each has their own style, personality and we will try to highlight that with how they do things.

For example: Collins is a technical guy who has been a wrestling news reporter for a couple of dirt sheets over the last 20 years, and recently ran Real Wrestling News by himself. So he’s going to be more serious and into the wrestling and fighting aspect, maybe?

Vanguard will have some rules change as well for the matches:

  • 1 RP limit! We want to get judging done quickly! The sooner we can get this show up, the better.
  • Right now, the match writers will not be doing commentary unless there is something requested to be put in. (The person putting this show together will do all the commentary for the matches.)
  • Our plan is to post this at least a couple of days before Warzone as a warmup. IF not a full week beforehand.

Now, this will take a few matches off the Warzone card, but also break up the production of warzone into a smaller piece as well. Meaning we’ll be doing a small chunk early. Meaning less work for Warzone.
