S4E2 – From the CWF News Desk

The same, overly produced and generic musical them comes on as well as the logo for the CWF’s News Desk. The camera comes on to find James “Jimmy” Collins seated at the news desk studio in CWF’s HQ in Las Vegas.

Jimmy Collins – Good evening, and welcome to this edition of the CWF’s News Report for the 2nd Episode Cycle for our 4th Season. And I’ve got a few things for you this week. I’ve got some news, rumors and an interview with one of our newest members. Let’s get started with a rundown on what’s going on with this special set of shows.

Show Rundowns

Jimmy Collins – First of all this coming show cycle is special. There are only two matches that aren’t part of an event that will literally shake up the title scene here in the CWF. So first the matches that are outside of this. We start with the Valor Championship Match. “Wicked” Kat Hale is still on a roll, having defended against the Gauntlet match on Episode 1 of Vanguard. Now she’s got quite possibly her biggest challenge to date. Miguel Lanza, Jr… long seen as the member of the Upstarts who has done the least… he’s lost every match that has been meaningful, but also had opportunities pulled from him.

An Image comes up on the screen over his shoulder, showing Miguel Lanza and “Wicked” Kat Hale for the Valor Championship.

Jimmy Collins – Lanza is hungry to prove himself, and Hale is only two defenses away from being the third Valor champion to hit 5 successful defenses and winning the prize. I’m really looking forward to this one. I’ll admit to knowing Miguel Lanza, Senior back in the day and I’d love to see Miguel get his due. Back in that other fed we were in an interfed with, he was a favorite to win the tourney that Abby Dresden ended up winning, but… an injury took him out early from someone else’s attack. Since then he’s been, well… both Abbigail and Tetsuo Oni have outshined him.

But you can’t count Kat Hale out. She beat Monster Mammoth soundly, and has really become a huge star almost overnight in the CWF. But some might say that she is outgrowing the Valor Championship. To that I say… there is a reason why there is a 5 defense limit. Once you hit that point, you’re pretty much bigger than the Valor Championship. But she’s  not quite there yet.

And a graphic for the Fiona O’Connell vs Abby Dresden match comes up.

Jimmy Collins – And the other match outside of the special challenge that’ll take part over the other 12 matches on the shows… Fiona O’Connell, one of our newest wrestlers in both training and age… is going from beating 4 others in the Valor Gauntlet match last episode to now getting a dream shot. She’ll be facing off against someone who is technically the same age, but also I believe younger… but also the current reigning CWF Conquest Champion, Abigail Dresden.

This is a huge opportunity for O’Connell, but this will also be technically only her 3rd of 4th match in her entire career. Is she getting fast tracked? Some would say that Dresden is getting a really easy title defense. Even she has a year of experience over O’Connell. But the younger O’Connell isn’t exactly a slouch in the ring. Of course she has her father to thank for all the natural genetics. And I have it on good word that Mrs. O’Connell isn’t exactly someone to drop out of that equation either. I’m not sure of O’Connell’s chances here, but the idea that in her 3rd or 4th actual match she could eek out a Conquest Championship win… you know there are some people… cough Eddie Vega cough who will be dropping some money in the sports books for that long shot bet.

As a man of the news, I can only say… good luck Ms. O’Connell. You have your work cut out for you.

Now a graphic for the Beat The Clock Challenge comes up.

Jimmy Collins – And the rest of the show, 12 matches that have been paired up by a randomizer. The goal, to be the person who beats their opponent the fastest. We’re not getting long and drawn out matches on this cycle. This is going to change the title scene here. We have all of our normal regular top guys: Former Champions Kronin Reinhardt, Greg Salazar, Eddie Williams, Frank Windsor… but also people like Eron Hunter and Father Nathan O’Connell, or even Karlie Nash, Kreigsen, Drago, Tepes and all of our newcomers like Williams and well, everyone. Again, 12 matches, so 24 people are getting a shot to challenge for the Conquest Championship at Lunar Warfare.

The second place will get an Elite Title shot, which already has a few contenders in Steve Murdock, and Gabriel Tuck in it… who are also one of the matches in the Beat the Clock Challenge. And I have it on good knowledge, his own words, that Frank Windsor wants to get into that division as well.

Third place will get to pick a partner and go after the tag team titles in a guaranteed shot.

And 4th place will get a Valor Championship match on the 3rd cycle of this season.

I have to admit, a little sadistic side here on myself, but the idea of Fiona O’Connell winning that long shot upset, and then having to possibly face her own father at Lunar Warfare? I’d not mind that. Don’t hate me for thinking about it. You know it would drive ratings.

Oh, and before I forget Vanguard will be coming to use from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio and Warzone will be coming to us from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, both shows in Texas.

Jimmy Collins – And now, lets go to an interview by Alyssa Lucchi, with one of the new stars involved in the Beat the Clock Challenge this cycle, CWF Newcomer… Kyle.

Alyssa Lucchi Interviews Kyle

The shot opens with Alyssa Lucchi standing beside an unfamiliar-looking man with shaggy blonde hair. He’s looking straight at the camera with glassy eyes and a goofy grin.

Alyssa Lucchi – Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I’m stood here tonight with Kyle, one of Conquest Wrestling Federation’s newest signings. Kyle, welcome to the CWF.

Kyle – Thanks, stoked to be here.

Alyssa Lucchi – So, you arrive here relatively unknown. Care to tell us a little about what inspired you to join the company?

Kyle – Well, lemme tell you a story. It’s about a little dude full of hopes an’ dreams who was born into poverty and made it all the way to the top. Fightin’ for survival every day of his life until a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity presented itself. A competition, bro. Last-man standin’ kinda thing, you know? This dude didn’t even have the scratch to enter, but the Gods was smiling on him, bro. He got in, an’ he won, dude. He fuckin’ won.

Alyssa Lucchi – That sounds like quite a journey.

Kyle – Wasn’t easy, bro. Like this one chick, she got fuckin’ blown up, dude. An’ another dude nearly fuckin’ drowned. Those images are gonna haunt my dreams forever. I mean, there were fuckin’ slaves there, bro. Legit fuckin’ slaves that were brought in after the owner fired the entire staff. You don’t see shit like that an’ not get a little cynical.”

Alyssa Lucchi – Good lord! That sounds awful!

Kyle – Right?!

Alyssa Lucchi – You really had to fight against slaves?

Kyle – Huh?

Alyssa Lucchi – You said there were slaves in this competition?

Kyle – Oh, no, they weren’t in the competition, dude. They were forced to make candy all day.

Alyssa Lucchi – Wait, what?

Kyle – Yeah, for this nasty prick who fired Charlie’s grampa because he didn’t want to share his trade secrets.

Alyssa Lucchi – Who’s Charlie?

Kyle – He’s the dude from the story, bro. Pay attention.

Alyssa Lucchi – I’m confused. You mean you weren’t talking about yourself?

Kyle – Uhhh, no. I was talkin’ about Charlie from the Willy Wonka flick. You seen it? It’s fuckin’ gnarly, bro. It’s about this eccentric pedophile who lures children to his chocolate factory an’ then picks ‘em off one by one. .

Alyssa Lucchi – Why are you talking about this?

Kyle – Just sayin’ dude, I watched it for the first time when I was six years old. Charlie’s character has always inspired me.

Alyssa Lucchi – Why? Did you also grow up impoverished?

Kyle – I grew up in San Diego, dude.

Alyssa Lucchi – Hmm, I see. Well, perhaps you can give the fans an idea of what they can expect from you in the ring?

Kyle – Dude, it’s like riding the biggest wave of my life. I feel the power of the ocean surging through my veins, an’ the roar of the crowd like the crash of the waves, bro. If you wipe out, you gotta just get back up on that board an’ keep paddlin’. I mean life, wrestlin’, surfin’… it’s all the same, you know?

Alyssa Lucchi – Sure.

Kyle – Sometimes you just gotta take risks and go for the big moves an’ it’s like the universe tellin’ you you’re on the right path. Just like Charlie. He took over the chocolate factory, an’ I’m gonna take over the CWF. Except I’m much older than he was in the movie. An’ he was kinda small, too. Rakish, you know? It’s actually kinda messed up how he became the owner of a multinational corporation so young, an’ all because he refused to give away the trade secrets of a dude who built his fortune on the back of slave labor. Huh, capitalism’s kinda gnarly, dude.”

The shot fades with Alyssa Lucchi looking blankly at her producer as they shrug shoulders at one another.. And it goes back to Jimmy in the studio.

Jimmy Collins – Okay… Well, let’s get to some news and rumors.

News & Rumors

Jimmy Collins – First an update on two of our wrestlers who are both with a single project external to wrestling. We now have a track listing for the Cryptic Writings 2nd Album. We also have a title, “Alchemical Renaissance”

Of course Cryptic Writings is the first band signed to CWF Records and is composed of CWF Wrestler, Greg Salazar and some of his friends and family from his high school years. Other band members include Stephen Simmons, Jill Simmons, Charlie Johnson, and Shawn Telles. They’re being joined on the road by fellow CWF Wrestler, and someone reforming their singing career, Kat Hale.

The Track Listing is:

  1. Heaven Beside You (Alice in Chains Cover |  vocals by S. Simmons, G. Salazar)
  2. Poem, Cryptic Reboot (Taproot Cover |  vocals by S. Simmons, G. Salazar, K. Hale)
  3. Leader of the Broken Hearts (Papa Roach Cover Cover | Vocals by S. Simmons )
  4. Sweet Sacrifice (Evanescence cover |  Vocals by K. Hale)
  5. Drop Dead Cynical ( Amaranthe Cover | Vocals by S. Simmons, G. Salazar, K. Hale )
  6. What Have you Done Now (Within Temptation Cover | Vocals by S. Simmons, K. Hale)
  7. Can You Hear Me (Korn Cover | Vocals by G. Salazar)
  8. Remedy (Seether Cover | Vocals: S. Simmons )
  9. Vicarious (Tool Cover | Vocals: G. Salazar )

Jimmy Collins – Some good tunes there, of course CWF Records right now is only allowed to have their bands release covers, but I’ve heard that the band had a handful of original songs that they’ll be singing in the shows around the nation as they join the CWF in the tour.

Word has it that Shawn Telles, the main songwriter for Cryptic Writings, and Kat Hale have even been working on one they might debut during this tour.

We also have an update on the nKo, well two. First, Monster Mammoth after his injury on last Warzone, may be out of action for a couple of months. We’ll keep things update, we know the Peak of Freak has his fans, all of his freaks. The question is, when he does come back, will he be looking for revenge on Miguel Lanza Jr for the act that lead to the injury and match stoppage.

And, Mammoth’s team mate, “The Airdevil” Madd Morales… appears to be missing. He’s missed a few functions, and at the last Vanguard, after he was dropped by Fiona McConnell, only his devil mask was found in his locker room. We hope everything is okay, as the team of Morales and Mammoth have been some of the brightest stars to date in the New Kharnival Order.

And last, but not least… we have something going on at both the CWF training facility here on the CWF Campus in Las Vegas, and at the Gyms we usually book in the cities on tour, for our talent to use for some privacy to get ready for our shows.

A bit of graffiti has been popping up, even in the rented facilities. A logo that looks like this.

An image comes up again over his shoulder.

Jimmy Collins – Sometimes it has the worlds “It calls, we answer” written under it. While no one has come forward or been proven to be the culprit yet, we do have one main suspicion, which is Viktor Kriegsen. Is this something to do with the group he has formed with Samael Drago and Malakai Tepes? We may find out this Vanguard or Warzone, as all three of them are booked in various matches.

Well that’s all for now. More news as we get it. But in the meantime, tune in to Vanguard and Warzone for our 2nd Episodes of the season… for the Beat The Clock Challenge!

Good Night.
